HELP! I'm missing a piece of me!

Ok-the other night I woke up in the middle of the night and thought...I feel a little funny. I had no idea what it was, but in the morning when I awoke, I realized my belly button had fallen off!!! OH MY!!! I was so terrified! What am I going to do? Where is it? Where do I look first? When I find it, how do I reattach it? Well, needless to say, Ava & Ema reassured me this was suppose to happen and I was just fine. Whew! I thought I might be the only baby with a missing piece.

Well, after that. I have really enjoyed being in the world. I now weigh over 10 lbs., I had my kidney's and bladder checked and they are looking healthy and good! The Drs office says I'm just the cutest little baby. Although I heard her say that to room 5 as well, so I don't know who that Dr. thinks she foolin'. Not me that's for sure!

Well, I better head back up to bed. Don't want to let mommy and daddy know just yet that I know how to use the computer. They may put me to work. With 3 girls, they have to make a living some how...just think of all the clothes, make-up, hair products, shoes they'll have to purchase over the next 18 years.

Happenings about King Street

Ila enjoying the lighting of the Christmas tree!
Ava & Ema--our bedroom Christmas Tree!
We decorated it all by ourselves.
We even put the living room tree together by ourselves,
well a litte instruction from Daddy!

These are our days on King Street.
It's cold out, so we don't get out much.
On no-school days, we lounge in our PJs the majority
of the day, watch a few cartoons, and look at eachother.
Mostly because we are all so cute!
Ila and her first sponge bath at home.
Ava washed my back, Daddy washed my middle,
and Ema washed my toes.
Mommy supervised to be sure the job
was done correctly and with such gentleness!
WOW--It's like going to the day spa.

Yes mom--I'm fine.
I like to be clean!

It's Me, I'm #3!

Well, HELLO there world! I'm ILA JOELLE BERNARD!

I thought I would take a moment and introduce myself to
the world. I have a REALLY great family!
This is me and my 2 sisters-Ema and Ava.

Aren't they so sweet looking?
Well they certainly are sweet on me.
At least I must be sweet because all Ema does is kiss me.

We have been having some really great times together.
So far, they really enjoy having me around. Even when I have
to yell for my food, or for someone to take the stinky
diaper off of me.

Well, I'm lucky #3 KC Bernard sister! I'm easy going so far,
enjoy kisses (most of the time), sleeping, and looking out the window!
I can't wait to meet you...come visit me!

WELCOMING HOME COMMITTEE!

November 3, 2010

Welcome Home!

Welcome to our NEW Home in Overland Park!

Here's the front of our new home. We have been in for over
a month now. We are almost unpacked just in time for
baby #3 to make her appearance.
We are really enjoying being closer to Shay's work, we get
to enjoy breakfast with him most mornings!
We are a 5 minute drive to Pre-K and 15 minute drive
to church! It's great to spend our quality time at home playing
basketball, going for walks, or just hanging out at home.
We look forward to entertaining and having you over
to show you our new home!

Sandy Bernard

Our Beloved Sandy passed away Monday June 14th at 9pm
He will be so missed, things are definitely different around our house.
There is no one to kick out of the bed at night before Shay and I
go to be, there is no one to let outside at night before we head
to bed, there is an empty space on the couch where he slept
at night while we watched TV and an empty space at the
foot of the stairs during the day where he laid to keep cool.
The mornings are a little less noisy and there is less for me to
do because I am missing one mouth to feed and one less
person (dog) to make sure goes potty.

He was apart of our family.
He was like my first son.
He was a great snuggler and listener.
He was terrific to just BE...he didn't need a lot
and he didn't just take and take and take.
He gave me so much love and understanding.
He meant something different to each of us I would say.
My days feel so empty and lonely without him around during the day.
There's no on to watch me in the kitchen and beg, no one to lay their head in
my lap while I eat, and definitely no one to clean up the floor
when the girls drop something...which means more work for me:)
No one to give the left over eggs to, or the crust of our toast to.
My walking companion when the girls would run ahead of me,
my babysitter when I needed to run inside for a moment, I felt the girls were
so safe with him outside, I knew he would bark if they needed me.
What will we ever do without him?

I don't know but I hope and pray that dogs do have a soul.
That the Lord knows how much love and comfort they offer us here on
earth and that there is a special place in heaven just for them.
I hope to one day again hug and play with Sandy and that he is in heaven
running through tall grass, chasing all the rabbit and squirrel his little
heart desires. I hope he has a soft place to sleep at night
and a gentle hand to massage him.
I pray there is someone there to give him his treat before bed at night
and someones lap for him to snuggle in.

I love you Sandy and miss you very much. There will always be a place
in my heart for you and I can't wait to see you again.
Thank you Lord for the greatest most gentle loving friendly dog there ever was!
We are so blessed to know Netty Schneider who takes such fabulous pictures of our family.
We were super blessed to have her here the first week of June to take our pictures and that we will have some really great pictures of Sandy to remember him by.
Thank you Netty and Photography by Netty for allowing me to post these pictures and give this tribute to my beloved Sandy.

Ava's First Recital

Here's the dancer Ava!
She was part of the Lullaby League
there theme was the Wizard of Oz!

Shay and I wondered if she would be as outgoing
on the stage as she is at home,
she did not disappoint.

Shay worked the lights

Andrea sat with the little dancers!

Ema enjoyed sitting with her Grandma's and Grandpa's
each night to enjoy the show!

Here's Ava after the show with all of her flowers!
Thanks for coming and enjoying the show!

We're Growing Strawberries & Carrots

Ava helping water our new strawberries!
We have 11 plants, only 1 didn't make it.

We also have 2 rows of carrots right now too!
They are almost ready for the picking!

All that gardening really makes one thirsty.

Ema enjoys helping too!
She's all ready for the picking.

We also purchased a tomato plant, we are turning
into green thumbs here in Gardner.
