6 Months Old

6 Months Old!! Can you believe it? I went for my 6-month check-up on Friday.
I weighed 16 lbs. 2oz. and was 26 inches long. Dr. Yannette said I am right at the national average, what? I'm better than average, I don't know what that fool was talking about, but mommy and daddy were both happy so I guess that's okay. He said I was looking very good and since I'm already scooting around the house, he thought I would be crawling soon! Watch out world--here I come!! That MEAN Nurse gave me 4 shots again, OUCH!! This time they did not make me feel so good, Saturday I had a temperature, and now a cough and very runny nose. I also have my first tooth coming in-there is a lot changing in my world!

Ava's bath time song:
"Rubber ducky you're the one,
You make bath time so much fun.
I've got no milk or food to eat,
I'm a little hungry and I need a treat.
Come close I've got a secret for you,
My belly's empty, you'll have to do.
Oh rubber ducky, now don't you cry,
My diaper will meet you on the other side."
Ava got to spend the afternoon with Aylin and her parents Jeet and Desiree at her house. These two girls have so much fun together.

Okay. So here is what happens when dad can't decide what pictures to put on the web.

Hello to everyone out there!

SOLID FOOD TIME!!!!

Here's Ava getting her first taste of solid food. Rice cereal. Ymm, Ymm!

"I won't some more please"

Just give me the bowl already.

I love this stuff!

This was a fun experience. Tues, Feb. 22 we gave Ava her first taste of solid foods. Ava really seemed to enjoy it. It is going to take some getting used to for us though. She gets a little messy so there is going to be food everywhere soon. But, it will be fun none the less. Ava is soo cute when she eats the cereal. She goes after that spoon like no other. Well, we hope you enjoy the pictures of her first (as we know of Grandpas and Grandmas?) solid foods.

After a trip to the grocery store and a quick car ride home, Ava was wore out!
Nap time on a crisp Saturday afternoon.

"Do you see mom yet?"

Sandy says, "One of these days Ava, I'm going to take you outside by myself. We're going to walk and run and lay in the grass. It will be soo much fun....But not today. It's freezing out and I can't find my coat." Ava replies quickly, "But Sandy, you are always wearing your coat. I don't understand?!" Sandy responds, "Okay...okay...So I haven't figured out how to unlock the front door yet. But give me time Ava. I know I can do it."
"What you lookin' at Willis?"
"My bib says it all!"
"Ha ha ha heee heeee heee hooo hooo ha ha heeee!"
HELLO...Hello...hello...hello(supposed to be an echo)....IS ANYONE OUT THERE?....Out There?...out there?...out there?
This is sure one big baseball.

"Hey Dad. You look funny upside down?"

DEDICATOIN DAY!!!!

Mom, Dad & Ava on her dedication day.

Here is some of the family at the church before the service began.
What a wonderful day we had last Sunday, Feb. 5th. On that day Ava was dedicated at our church in Lenexa. It was awesome to have all of her grandparents, most of her great-grandparents, and many other family and friends there to share the day with Ava. After the dedication, we all came back to the house for some sandwiches, cake and good fellowship. We really appreciate everyone supporting us in raising Ava in a Christian home. It will be through these values that she will grow up to be a wonderful, loving, God-filled person!
